Mr. Gittha’s Story (Village Chief of Xorcktang Village, 2024–Present)

gitthas casestory

“I learned to grow vegetables and raise animals. I received seeds and livestock, improving my family’s nutrition and income through sales.

Before the start of the Farmers’ Club project, my family’s income was barely enough to cover our basic daily needs, leaving us with no opportunity to save for our children’s future
The introduction of the Farmers’ Club in 2024 marked a turning point for our community. The project provided vital training alongside agricultural inputs, to diversify our production. By integrating mushroom farming, fish farming, poultry raising, and vegetable gardening, we were able to transform our subsistence practices into sustainable income sources.

Specifically, my family received five chickens and 2,000 fish for our home farm. Through the skills I acquired, I have maintained and expanded this production beyond the initial project support. Today, the results are clear: we are now self-sufficient, covering our daily expenses while successfully investing in our children’s education and building savings for their future.

Even after the project ended, villagers continued using the training, like feeding chickens with vegetable scraps to cut costs. The project brought unity, knowledge, and lasting change”.
