Three villages in Bolikhan District receive status as Model Health Villages

As a wonderful manifestation of the Child Aid projects' success, three HPP Laos target villages have been awarded the status of Model Health Villages in September 2017: Ban Phonnieng, Ban Bor and Ban Nahan. The title of Model Health Village is a certification by the Government of Lao PDR. In order to achieve this status, villages need to comply with more than 30 performance indicators in health-related areas such as maternal and children's health, clean water, hygiene practices, the availability and use of toilets, and nutrition. HPP Laos has worked closely with the Department of Health on Province and District levels to achieve sustainable results in these regards.

The award celebration took place in Ban Phonnieng in November 2017. Villagers from all three Bans participated, as well as the Deputy Governor of Bolikhan District, representatives from the Department of Health and HPP Laos. All parties involved received well-earned certificates in recognition of their achievements.
